David Anderson is the author of “Agile Management for Software Engineering”, a signatory of the PM Declaration of Interdependence and a founder of the APLN, an original member of the “Singapore Project” where Feature Driven Development emerged. He publishes the Agile Management blog and has written many articles and papers on agile methods, management, Lean and Theory of Constraints. He is popular conference speaker and has given key notes at Lean and Agile Sweden and The Agile Edge and Agile Development Practices in 2008.
At Microsoft he created the MSF for CMMI Process Improvement method as a “hardened” agile approach to full lifecycle software development that delivers a high maturity, organizational level agile culture. He’s been a vocal proponent of Edwards Deming’s teaching applied in software development and has been advocating a reconciliation with the formal academic side of the industry. He’s been building bridges with the SEI and CMMI community and recently co-authored the SEI’s official Technical Note on Agile and CMMI with Mike Konrad, Hillel Glazer, Jeff Dalton and Sandy Shrum.
David is also recognized as the first advocate and practitioner of kanban systems for managing agile development and delivering reliable sustainable pace.
David started the Agile Model Evolution initiative at Agile 2007 and has a keen interest in the future and evolution of the Agile movement its community.
