Short Bio: Rev. Arline Sutherland began using Scrum in the Unitarian Association of Hartford in 2005 starting with the church staff as the first team. Here she discovered that the minister is the likely Product Owner and the church office manager can make a good ScrumMaster. In 2006, along with her husband, Jeff Sutherland, she began training multiple teams at the Unitarian Universality headquarters in Boston. She joined the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ft. Myers, FL, and broadened the Scrum implementation beyond the church staff into lay led teams responsible for new membership and marketing communications and introduced a Scrum of Scrums to coordinate across teams. In 2007, as Senior Minister at a large Unitarian Universalist Church in Wilmington, DE, she introduced the Scrum Board as a universal tool at the center of Church activities. She is currently introducing Scrum to the First Parish Church of Lexington, MA.
