Short Bio

Dan Rawsthorne is a Certified Scrum Trainer, has been developing software for over 25 years, and is an accomplished manager, mentor, coach, trainer, consultant, and architect. The projects he has worked on run the gamut – from e-commerce, to databases, to military avionics and Air Traffic Control. Dan is a transformation agent – he helps organizations transform themselves through liberal applications of common sense and agile techniques.

His formal training (PhD in mathematics) guides him to look for underlying problems rather than focus on surface symptoms; his military background (retired reserve officer) helps him understand the importance of teamwork and empowerment; and his common sense tells him that change must happen in small manageable bites. He is currently co-writing a book on Advanced Agile Concepts that is due out in 2009.
