Agile Hats Art Show
An agile-tester needs to wear many different hats to be effective in their role. Sometimes they have the ‘Detective’ hat on, sometimes the ‘Scientist’ and others the ‘Police Officer’. Working in small groups we will create a taxonomy of the hats testers wear. Once a the list is produced we will then see which are the most common, enjoyable, frustrating, Agile and a number of other attributes.
The session will start out with me giving a couple examples of a ‘hat’ that testers wear from my own experience. These will setup the participatory exercise where we will break out into smaller groups to brainstorm our own hats. All the group lists will then be merged into a master list. Once we have ‘complete’ taxonomy, participants will mark the ones their wear producing an ordered list. Other attributes around hats will also be discussed such as ‘anti-hats’ such as ‘gatekeeper’ which negatively impact the productivity or agility of a team.
