Top Ten Tips for Agile Coaches
, Liz Sedley
We’ve spent the past year writing a book about Agile Coaching and that’s given us a great opportunity to reflect on what we do as agile coaches. In this talk, we’ll present our top ten tips for agile coaches. We’ll present this like those TV shows that do a countdown to the Number One tip and illustrate the tips with some personal coaching stories.
We also want to hear from people in the audience what their coaching tips are.
We start by inviting the audience to write down their top tip.
Then we’ll do our countdown with one presentation slide per tip. For each tip we’ll spend a few minutes telling our story about how we picked that tip.
Our current top ten tips are: * Ask questions to spark ideas. * Take time to listen. * Treat everyone with care and respect. * Make change as an experiment. * Go with the energy of the team. * Introduce an elephant in the room. * Watch out for warning signals. * Step back to see the big picture. * Take time out to reflect. * Have courage in your convictions.
At the end we’ll have time for questions. We also want to invite the audience to share their top tip with the group. We could do this with a roving microphone or discussions around tables.
