In the experience report we would like to present the approach we used to adopt agile and the benefits we realized by using that approach. We hope this report will help other teams and organizations adopt agile using the same roadmap we used and realize some of the same benefits we realized.

So the first part of the report will be a brief introduction to the Sidky Agile Measurement Index (SAMI). SAMI was originally developed by Dr. Ahmed Sidky as part of his Doctorate work and now has been adopted by many teams and organizations around the world. SAMI consists of 5 main steps: (1) Collaborative, (2) Evolutionary, (3) Integrated, (4) Adaptive, and (5) Encompassing. In each of these steps a new value in introduced into the team through a set of agile practices are best suited for our team.

So at our company we were fortunate enough to have Dr. Ahmed Sidky personally coach us and help our team adopt agile. We were using the SAMI as our roadmap for adoption and are currently at step 2. In this experience report we would like to illustrate the benefits we have realized both inside the team and the benefits our customer has already felt. The team has become a much more cohesive team where communication and collaboration are truly a pillar. Moreover, by the adoption of these simple practices in Step 1 and 2 and the SAMI we were able to deliver a project 25% ahead of schedule, decrease defects by 45%, attain up precedented customer satisfaction, and decrease employee turnover by 19%.
